GST advice for catered residential colleges in the context of the coronavirus pandemic
Dear Members,

As advised in our last newsletter, the Association has been represented in meetings with the ATO with a view to ascertaining whether there are any possible GST concessions that Colleges might be able to access at this time of uncertainty and also due to the associated likelihood of unbudgeted costs arising from attempts to mitigate the outbreak of COVID-19 infection in a college community or from an actual outbreak of the infection.  We engaged Peter McDonald to assist us in this task and have now received his advice which is attached to this newsletter.  Please note that the advice was sought on behalf of members of the Association and as such is applicable to those catered residential colleges which are members of the Association and paying GST on food.

The advice also contains a number of contact points and support measures  on offer from the ATO which you may choose to access.

The Association remains willing to assist members on this and other COVID-19 matters.
