As you know our Forum is scheduled for Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 November 2021.
You will find our Program, together with speaker biographies and presentation abstracts and reports -here
Forum tickets are now available at our registration page - here
Note: we have set the ticket price for the full two days of the Forum at $125 (GST incl.) in order to cover the costs of the event.
Event details:
Dr Brenda Holt has arranged for a number of distinguished people to speak on issues of immediate importance. The President has invited the Chair of Universities Australia to address us at the beginning of the Forum. In addition, we will be hearing important contributions from members and associate members.
We have scheduled the Forum at times that should be reasonably convenient for people from New Zealand to Perth.
These instructions summarise how the Forum will be organised so that you can connect and actively participate.
Deborah Pugh, UCA Executive Officer, will remain available throughout the Forum. If you have any connection issues, you can contact Deb immediately on M: 0434 400 653
Peter Tyas, Technical Support Officer at New College, will be managing the Zoom connections and the ability of participants to address the entire meeting
Bill Peirson, Forum Co-convenor, will Chair the main sessions.
Upon registration, you will be sent four calendar invitations for the main sessions of the Forum.

For any registrant to participate in the Forum, you will simply need your computer and the relevant Zoom link, which will be supplied on registration within a calendar invitation.
We are encouraging each State Chapter to find a host who is willing to accommodate their members for each day. If you are able to do this, the host’s IT people should be able set up a large screen so that everyone can see the relevant speaker with a judiciously placed camera or laptop so that others joining the Forum can see all participants. During the breaks, you will be able enjoy morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea according to your time zone.
May I take this opportunity to request that you leave your camera on. It is very discouraging for speakers to be addressing an array of blank windows.
During the New Heads and New Deans/Deputies Sessions, meeting as a group is optional and will be possible according to the IT support available. Access will be provided after registration. Questions will be managed interactively by the chairs of the relevant session.
During the main sessions, questions will be facilitated using your mobile phones. When the question time is announced, please do as follows:
Open the web browser on your phone.
Go to the slido website: Six letters “sli.do” and hit enter
Enter the seven letter hashtag UCA2021.
Type in your question. You can optionally add your support to the questions of others.
The convenor will direct the questions to the speaker(s) on behalf of the group.
It would have been far better if we had been able to meet face to face. In spite of the challenges, we hope that this Forum is a helpful and encouraging time for you and your college.
